Help
Write to support@joyjar.app about anything to do with JoyJar. A person reads every message, and we usually answer within two working days.
If it is about your account, please write from the email address you sign in with.
Signing in
My sign-in code has not arrived
Look in your spam or junk folder, and check the address for a typing slip. A code works for a short while only. Press “Send a new code” for a fresh one, then wait a few minutes before asking again.
Price and unlocking
What does JoyJar cost?
It is free for 30 days, then $4.99 once (your store shows the price in your own money). There is no subscription. The days you have left are always shown on the home screen and under “You”.
What happens after the 30 days if I do not unlock?
You can no longer add new joys. Everything else stays: reading, search, pulling a joy, Rainy day, postcards, links, and exporting your joys.
I paid, and this phone still asks me to unlock
Open the unlock screen and press “Restore purchase”. Make sure you are signed in to JoyJar with the same email address you used when you paid.
Can I have a refund?
Payments are taken by Apple or Google, and refunds are theirs to give. Ask through the App Store or Google Play.
Your joys
How do I get a copy of everything?
Under “You”, press “Export my joys”. You get one file with every joy you wrote and your photos, and you choose where it goes.
Does it work with no connection?
Yes. Joys are saved on your phone first and sent to your account when you are next online.
Shared jars
How do I invite someone?
Open the shared jar’s own screen and press “Invite someone”. You get a code to send. It lets one person in, once, and works for 7 days.
Someone added something unkind or unwanted
- Report the joy. Open it and press “Report this joy”. It is hidden on your phone, and the person who started the jar sees that it was reported and why, not who reported it.
- Hide a person’s joys. On the shared jar’s screen, press “Hide joys” beside their name. Their joys in that jar no longer show on your phone. They are not told.
- Report a person. Write to support@joyjar.app with the jar’s name and the name they use in it. We aim to look at every report within a day.
- Leave the jar from the foot of its screen. If you started the jar, you can remove a joy or a person instead.
Links
Someone sent me a link to a joy and I do not want it
You can close the page. If it is unkind, abusive or spam, open the joy and press “Report this page” under it, or write to us.
How do I take back a link I sent?
Under “You”, find it in “Links you have sent” and press “Delete link”. The page stops showing your joy at once.
Leaving JoyJar
You can delete your account, and everything in it, from the app or by writing to us. How to delete your account.
