Delete your JoyJar account
This page is for the app JoyJar: Shared Gratitude Jar, made by ReAlign Leadership LLC. You can delete your account and its data in the app, or by asking us.
In the app
- Open JoyJar and go to You.
- At the foot of the screen, press Delete my account.
- Read what will be deleted. If you want a copy of your joys first, press Export my joys first.
- Type the word DELETE and press Delete my account.
Your account is deleted straight away.
Without the app
Write to support@joyjar.app from the email address you sign in to JoyJar with, and say that you want your account deleted. We ask for that address so nobody else can have your account deleted.
We delete the account within 30 days and reply to tell you when it is done.
What is deleted
- Your sign-in and your email address.
- Your name in JoyJar.
- Your own jar, with every joy and photo in it.
- Every joy and photo you wrote in any shared jar. They disappear from the other people’s phones too.
- Every link you have sent, with its words and photos.
- Our record of your free 30 days and of your unlock.
What happens to a shared jar you started
It passes to the person who has been in it longest, so the others keep their joys. If nobody else is in it, it is deleted.
What is kept
- If one of your joys or sent pages was reported, the copy of its words made for that report is kept, so that we can deal with misuse. It no longer says whose words they were.
- Apple, Google and RevenueCat (the company that confirms purchases for us) keep their own records of a purchase. We cannot delete those.
- Copies in our storage company’s routine backups are overwritten on its own short schedule.
Before you delete
- Deleting cannot be undone.
- If you have unlocked JoyJar, deleting your account does not refund the payment.
- JoyJar has no subscription, so there is nothing to cancel.
